We’re here to empower the next generation of diverse physicians.
Our mission is to provide mentorship and resources for those underrepresented in medicine. We showcase the real stories of medical students and physicians from historically excluded backgrounds. We offer free application guidance, podcast episodes, and a network of emerging leaders in medicine. Whether you’re just starting to explore medicine or already in the application process, you’ll find guidance, encouragement, and community here.
To our Future Minority Doctors, we need you.
About 3 out of 10 people in the U.S. are Black, Latino, Native American, or Pacific Islander.
Only 1 out of 10 doctors are.
Wouldn’t it be nice if the faces and backgrounds of doctors were as diverse as their patients?
Our founders, Dr. Marina & Dr. Zulma, are two first-generation Latina doctors who have taken the journey to medical school and beyond. They recognize that being an under-represented minority (URM), first-generation student, or otherwise minoritized student on this path can come with unique challenges. Luckily, they’ve learned a few lessons along the way that they’d love to share with you! They want to see you not just dream of being a doctor, but become one.
Even if you are not a certain race or ethnicity, if you have grown up not seeing yourself reflected in the medical profession and want to know more about what it takes to become a doctor, we’re here for you.
